The Rocket Science Improv Show returns on Saturday, August 11, 6PM at The Improv Space in Westwood with another fantastic, free, improv show featuring some of our favorite improv teams. Three great improv teams will light up the stage with performances based on your suggestions. We have Room 604, of course. We are also featuring the return of Vanguard and we are excited to present the Westwood World Premiere of Pickup Game.
Room 604 features Jerry Witt, Mark D Allen, Breeze Geier, Miranda Shade, and Jon Thompson. Room 604 plays a brand of Close Quarters Improv that takes you to the heart of any city or town. The entire show is based on your suggestion of a business or location that you can find in your home town. They’ve taken audiences to gas stations, post offices, day spas, and dive bars. Come see where they’ll take audiences next.
Vanguard We like this team so much that we’ve asked them to co-host with us on the second Saturday of every month. This team grew out of Jay Sukow’s Level 701 Ensemble class at the Westside Comedy Theater. They stuck around with each other and continue to rehearse together and put out a consistently enjoyable show.
Pickup Game is a team formed from some of our favorite players at the Westside Comedy Theater: Matthew Schlissel, Andy Eifert McDuffie, Michael Tauzin, Roberto Lewis, Sonia Ulrich, Seth Brown, and Lisa Wyczesany. They usually perform a Pretty Flower, where a simple scene spirals out into exciting worlds with multiple characters, emotional points of view, space and time experimentation, and thoughtful callbacks.
This is going to be a super-fun show. You owe it to yourself to be there.
