May the Fourth (be with you) Sci-Fi/Fantasy Improv Show

Yes, we know it’s some cheesy word-play, but we couldn’t let May the Fourth go by without doing SOMETHING special. On May the 4th, 6 PM at The Improv Space in Westwood we present three long-form improv teams performing shows that are inspired by tales of science fiction and fantasy. This Rocket Science show is going to distort time, fold space, and take you to strange new places. Check out this line-up:

Blockbuster performs a condensed BLOCKBUSTER movie that has never been seen before – live! No computer-generated imagery, no pyrotechnics, no special effects; just the raw intensity of your favorite Hollywood movies. But this time, that “movie” is going to be a science fiction movie mixed with a genre of the audience’s choice.

Soft Clothes Revival is a two-person improv team featuring Derek Jones and Jonathan Zabel. They are coached by Chris Alvarado and promise to deliver grounded, emotionally relatable improv – in space.

Insane Koalas is returning to the Rocket Science Stage. This team features Andy Morrison, Angel Izard, Kirk Landsman, Rob Flowers, Alexa Wise and Jason Friedman. They are coached by Jacquis Neal and trained at UCB with a sprinkling of Groundlings. Someone once described Insane Koalas as, “Bonkers, unrelenting, and unrepentant, Insane Koalas has a style that’s always witty and never stale.”

Where else can you see relatable heroes from other planets, time-twisting paradoxes, and mind-bendingly fantastic scenarios. No where. We’re not playing games here. End of story.
