Rocket Science Improv Celebrates Summer

The Rocket Science Improv Show is back and here to celebrate the great things June brings: the return of summer, pride month, and the very first team that was selected from our drawing two weeks ago. On Saturday, June 15th, 6PM at The Improv Space in Westwood, we invite you to come and celebrate with us. We’re excited by these teams as they have all performed in our show several times previously and this is the first time we have the all together at once.

Blockbuster performs a condensed BLOCKBUSTER movie that has never been seen before – live! No computer-generated imagery, no pyrotechnics, no special effects; just the raw intensity of your favorite Hollywood movies.

Squid Family Robinson Get ready for bold improv action when this band of adventurers takes the stage. You cannot escape the tentacled grasp of this wild bunch of performers as each new show transports you to an exotic paradise of unpredictable surprises. Once you go Squid, you might never go home. Squid Family Robinson features Shani Kfir, Edan Kfir, Abbie Cunningham, Meryl Goodwin, Whill Reico, Kevin Kurtz, Sarah Colmaire, and Sandeep Kondubhatla.

Vanguard is owed a round of congratulations. Team mate Dave Hindler came to our last show, entered his team, and BAM here they are two weeks later.  These friends of the show and incredible performers, are always welcome to share the “bill” with us. (Yes, that’s a duck joke.) This troupe grew out of Jay Sukow’s Level 701 Ensemble class at the Westside Comedy Theater.

PLUS: We’re doing a drawing again! Any audience member (who is not in that show’s line-up) can enter their name and the name of their team into a drawing. We will draw one name and the team they nominate will be invited to appear in the very next Rocket Science show on July 6th with Blockbuster and Cobranauts. Do you want to get your team more stage time? Do you have an indie experimental improv show you want to put up? Drop your name into the bucket and you might just find you and your improv team on stage two weeks later. As a bonus you’ll get to see this fantastic show.

Keep in mind that The Improv Space has a very liberal libations policy. So if you want to bring in your summertime beverages or your pre-grilled BBQ, you are welcome to do so. See you Saturday!
