Rocket Science at Westside Comedy November 7th at 11

The Rocket Science Improv Show is BACK once again at The Westside Comedy Theater in Santa Monica! This Thursday, November 7th at 11 PM we have created a carefully curated selection of top-notch entertainment. We have three teams from three different improv theaters and training centers (Groundlings, iO West, and Westside Comedy). Want to see how different schools of thought influence improv play? This is your chance.

Grasping At Straws is a team of sketch comedians and improvisers based in Los Angeles. Hailing from the Groundlings, they promise a high-energy show by committing to strong characters, mostly for the better… sometimes for the worse. Featuring Sam Skolnik, Codi Georges, Tami Alfasi, John Fairbairn, and Alexander Agent they all trained at the Groundlings, and are coached by Navaris Darson.

Hometown features graduates at iO West that have also studied and performed at Second City and UCB. The team is coached by Holly Laurent and features Erika Godwin, Jesse Durant, Kristen Henley, Catherine Law, and Sean Harrigan. These folks played at our Improv Space stage and we were anxious to have them back. Hometown creates a brand-new town and all the strange people in it.  They’re known for patient, character-based play, making bold choices and creating strong relationships in their improv.  But you know what? They’re also not afraid of bursting into song if the occasion calls for it!

Blockbuster is the ongoing anchor team for the Rocket Science Show. Players are graduates, house team members, and/or instructors at Westside Comedy Theater. The regular cast features Mark D. Allen, Kerry Knuppe, Jon Thompson, Ruby Willmann, and Jerry Witt. But they have also had guest stars like Joey Greer, James Heaney, Rolland Lopez, and Rich Baker. They perform a condensed BLOCKBUSTER movie that has never been seen before – live! No computer-generated imagery, no pyrotechnics, no special effects; just the raw intensity of your favorite Hollywood movie. Come see what they create next.

Tickets are just 6 bucks and the Westside Comedy Theater has a wide selection of beer and wine.
